IT, Digital and Creative Activity

This year, we are doing even more to support the IT, Digital and Creative sector with our new sector lead, Paul Coffey - a Production Director for Colchester based digital agency, Coast Digital.

We're encouraging local business representatives to take part in any or all of our activities below to support our aim to tackle local skills challenges and support the industry in Essex. For more information on any of these activities, please e-mail: essexemployment.skillsboard@essex.gov.uk

Essex Employers, What's Your Thing?

Finding your thing when you're young is difficult, but with your help, we hope to make this as easy as possible for those who are getting ready to take the leap into the world of work.

How can you help inspire the next generation of workers? All we ask is that you send us a short e-mail explaining to us: what your role is, what you do in a typical day and what you enjoy about your job. This can be as short or as detailed as you would like, but we ask that you function in one of the following sectors:

District Profiles 2016

We are excited to announce that the final section of our Evidence Base (2016) is now available on our website. Our District Profiles are detailed reports on each of the fourteen districts within Greater Essex: Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Colchester, Epping Forest, Harlow, Maldon, Rochford, Southend-On-Sea, Tendring, Thurrock, Uttlesford.

Sector Profiles 2016

We’ve been working on a lot of content to benefit everyone this year, but we’re here to announce one of our biggest pieces yet! Our sector profiles are available on our website now.

The sector profiles are informative reports on the seven priority sectors that have been identified by the ESB: Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, Care, Construction, Finance and Insurance, Health, IT, Digital and Creative and Logistics. These industries have been selected because of their significance within the region and because they are facing substantial skills shortages.

My Experience | Emma Hall

We recruited Emma as an intern six months ago to support our work in delivering the most responsive and productive skills system in the country. Emma is now a Careers Enterprise Company (CEC) Co-ordinator but before she continued with her exciting journey, we got Emma to talk about her experience in this interview. We have continued to be impressed with Emma's work and can't wait to hear about all of her successes in this new opportunity!
